Voices of Lebanon amidst war: Insights from affected communities and best way to help

, ,

In light of the current and ongoing Israeli attacks and acts of aggression against Lebanon, over 2 000 people have been killed and 9 000 wounded since the 8th of October 2023, with an estimated 1.2 million civilians who have been forced to flee their homes.

At Upinion, we stand in solidarity with affected communities, as well as our Lebanese partners, local CSOs, and volunteer initiatives, who have been the first responders to the humanitarian situation and the mass displacement of civilian populations.

With the goal of supporting them to our best capacity, we held 3 conversations between the 30th of September and 3rd of October with our Lebanese and Syrian communities living in Lebanon aimed at identifying their priority needs, displacement status, main concerns, and overall input in order to come up with a targeted response to the situation, and find out what best ways humanitarian and other actors can help.

Their insights were gathered via our two-way communication platform, through which we are providing continuous and verified information, including emergency contacts, available shelters, mental health services, or general aid assistance. Read the report below, highlighting the key findings of these conversations.
