Endless Refuge and Unsafe Homecoming (Refugee Protection Watch Report 2022)

📣 In this newly-published research report, RPW is ringing the alarm bells on the living conditions of Syrian refugees in Lebanon and those who have returned to their home country.

Upinion – together with PAX for peace, 11.11.11, Basmeh & Zeitooneh for Relief and Development of the Refugee Protection Watch (RPW) coalition –  has conducted research into the various factors in Lebanon that are pushing Syrian refugees to return prematurely. Upinion’s online conversations 🗣️ with a panel of respondents in Lebanon renders this deteriorating situation visible through the eyes of both Syrian refugees and local residents themselves. With limited access to basic needs and social tensions on the rise, it is not surprising that 70% of the Syrian refugees of Upinion’s panel in Lebanon want to leave the country as soon as possible, without having a clear plan in mind.
