Since the fall of the Assad regime, over 600,000 Syrians have returned from Türkiye. But, to what extent are these returns voluntary, well-informed, and safe? Upinion and FORCE4Refugees published a report on Syrian refugee returns from Türkiye: ”Not yet home: evidence and recommendations on Syrian refugee returns from Türkiye”. This report draws on data collected by Olive Branch, Women Now for Development, and Support to Life, as well as conversations held with 90 returnees from Türkiye between December 2025 and April 2026 via Upinion’s Digital Engagement Platform.
The report sheds light on the experiences of Syrian returnees from Türkiye and presents recommendations to protect the rights of Syrians who decide to return, as well as those who choose to stay in Türkiye.
